Extruded kibble is baked at high heat. That makes a puffed pellet that soaks up water and expands — in the bowl and in the stomach. Cold pressing works at much lower temperatures, so oils, herbs and vitamins are not cooked away.
The pellet stays compact. Mix it with a little warm water if you like, but it will not balloon into a heavy mash. Many dogs find this easier on the gut, with less bloating after meals.
